Looks like this is a week for retired products.  Sorry about that.  I don't own all that many stamps, ..... yet.  

I was reading a forum the other day where people were discussing how many Stampin' Up sets they owned.  I think the most (that anyone admitted to) was 485.  I couldn't believe that one person could own so many.  Imagine the space they would take up.  And it would be so hard to choose which set to use each time.  So no, I really don't have that many, mine wouldn't even reach 50.  But back to the card.  

It's a spinner card for my niece's 2nd birthday. 

Welcome baby card

Over the holidays I made a card to welcome the safe arrival of a little girl named Annabeth to very proud parents.  

I love all the animals from the Fox and Friends stamp set (sadly now retired) and as I was in a bit of a hurry as usual I based the card around one I had previously done.  Of course it had to be in pinks.  I also used a stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue which starts later this month, Banner Blast.  Flags and bunting are now all the rage, and sometimes you just have to go with the flow. And check out the new embossing folder available soon too - Decorative Dots.  I can see myself using this one quite a lot.  It's a little more playful than Perfect Polka Dots.

Welcome Baby Card

On Friday I became a great aunt again to my nephew's first child - a girl named Emily.  I have previously shown you the cards that I had made,  a blue and a pink one.  I still like these cards and will use them for someone in the future, but I wanted to make a more baby card for this latest addition.  

I pulled out Fox and Friends, an oldie but a good one and chose Pretty in Pink cardstock and ink with a touch of Sahara Sand.  The whole card was sprayed with shimmer so it sparkles.  

Welcome to the world Emily.  I look forward to meeting you one day. 

A birthday card for ??

Can you guess who this card was for?  This was for my nephew who recently had his 4th birthday.  He is currently into Buzz Lightyear and Lightning McQueen, but I didn't have anything along those lines to make for his card.  I did have some Penny Black Alphabet stamps though, and combined these with the retired Fox and Friends images for a fun and bright card.  

Did he like it?  Of course not.  He wasn't really even interested in his present - a Buzz Lightyear character outfit.  This year it was all about Lego and trucks. 

Animal birthday

This one is another version of one seen on Pinterest.  This one is by Monica Gale ad I loved the idea of the animals sitting in little wagon trains.  (To see Monica's card you will need to scroll down to her post from 13th March 2011).  

The design of the card is called a Side Step card, for obvious reasons, and the wagons are made using the Decorative Label punch.  I used the punch longways to accommodate two animals, whereas Monica has just cut the shape in half making it easier to fit three carriages across the card.  I liked the idea of just sticking to three colours on the card.  Another cute one. 

The Circus is in Town

A few people have been telling me how good Pinterest is for checking out card designs so over the last few weeks I have pinned a few cards I wanted to try.  This is one of those cards and with a bit of help from Heidi Van Laar and her tent template and Heather Holbrook this is my version. 

The inside animals are from the stamp set Fox and Friends, which has now retired, but still lives in my house, and the outside characters are from Under the Big Top, which I don't actually own so I photocopied the page from the catalogue and then coloured them in. They would look better if I had stamped them though.  On the inside there is a line that the monkeys are hanging off, but it's not clear in the photo.  They aren't just hanging there.   Lots of cutting out, but cute.
